In case any of you have any questions about the current ranking system in place, I'm posting an in-depth explanation of it here.
From initially joining Knights of Light, all new members will start at rank Page. After the initial join date, I mark it down and add a week to the date to calculate when a member will be promoted to Squire. After ranking up to Squire, two weeks must pass before a Squire can become a Vassal. At Vassal rank, a member will have had three weeks of playtime under their belts already. For rank Knight, a month's time will have to have passed from their initial Vassal rank acquisition. All in all, it takes about two months to rank up from Page to Knight.
NOTE: Any days missed in between ranks will be marked down and will not count towards a rank up. So if you are not active for any day in between the time it takes between a rank, you'll be pushed back a day from the initial rank up from when a member first joined. Also note that termination from the Free Company only happens when a member hits their 30th day of consecutive inactivity. This means that if you miss 30 days in total from the game but they're not all back to back, you will not be terminated.
UPDATE: If any member joins on the first day but is inactive for a week without advance notice, then those inactive will be discharged.
Knight Captain has different prerequisites in that it's not based off of a member's total play time within the Free Company. Knight Captain is for members who have contributed to the FC quite a bit, and also help out newer members. They also have to have at least one level 50, and raid with their FC mates frequently. Knight Captains will be hand picked by Council members (which currently consists of myself, Cayleigh, Umorvis, and Camus).
tl;dr: Log in every day, and you'll rank up the fastest that a member can.
